Details. Peter Shearer, a professional potter since 1977, spent his early life in the East before moving to New Zealand in 1961. In his exhibition of new work, both stoneware and porcelain clays are used to produce works that are restrained and balanced and reflect elements of nature. Auriel Shearer, printmaker for over 40 years, studied print making in Tokyo. The woodcut with dye resist method learnt at that time, and has perfected since, is now combined with other print making techniques
