Details. This exhibition invites all cultures and generations to celebrate Matariki, the Maori New Year, heralded by the arrival of the small star cluster in the pre-dawn sky in early June. Viewers are encouraged to contribute to the exhibition by making Matariki stars to hang in a collaborative installation. Artists will interpret the theme of harvesting as a way to sustain ourselves in their own media, bringing together a diverse range of traditional and contemporary art work.
